Publisher’s Letter: The Show in ACS Show Daily

Kevin Davies Publisher C&ENTwice a year, the C&EN team prepares for our society’s national meeting. This August, we’ll be in Philadelphia with our editors, surprise guests, the sales team, and our marketing staff, who will be manning the booth and talking with advertisers and readers alike.

We’re excited to see the superb conference program come into focus, especially a new symposium that will feature the honorees of this year’s C&EN Talented 12 competition, which identifies chemistry’s rising stars. (This is where the surprise guests come in! The big reveal of the 2016 winners will happen onsite. For a preview, review last year’s list.)

To capture all the news, energy, and exhibitor happenings, the C&EN Media Group will be publishing multiple issues of the ACS Show Daily throughout the convention. For the upcoming Fall meeting, there are also some exciting changes to relay about the widely-read publication.

The New ACS Show Daily eNewsletter

Second, we will be unveiling a new design for the print version of the ACS Show Daily, tapping the creative talents of C&EN’s art director Rob Bryson, who led the redesign of C&EN earlier this year. You may have already noticed that the email newsletters were revamped at the Spring ACS meeting, with clean, responsive templates that make reading the email easy and even more informative. We’re excited to bring these  powerful mediums of print and digital closer together at the upcoming show.

The Fall Meeting is poised to be the perfect setting to display a topical mix of exhibitor information along with conference highlights, and other essential news that truly covers the world of chemistry.
