Chemical & Engineering News has excitedly selected Mohammed Yahia as C&EN’s new Editor-in-Chief. Yahia joins C&EN following a successful tenure as an executive editor at Springer Nature. During his nine years in that role, Yahia launched several print and digital magazines and led global editorial teams, often working with content in various languages. From 2017 to 2019, he served as president of the World Federation of Science Journalists. With global experience and digital-first expertise, Yahia is well-positioned to lead C&EN into its next 100 years.

Yahia’s announcement comes as C&EN celebrates its centennial anniversary. For 100 years, the weekly news magazine has served as the world’s most comprehensive and authoritative source of chemistry and chemistry-related news. In his new role, Yahia will lead efforts to develop a forward-looking strategic plan that cements C&EN’s reputation as a trailblazing and essential resource for the next century.
